F.B. KEENE
2021 - Present
Amesbury, Massachusetts

Purchased a 7,200sf commercial property in Amesbury Massachusetts in 2021. Originally built in 1875 for Frederick B. Keene’s paint and hardware store aptly named F.B. Keene.  After decades of neglect by prior owners, I took on the major renovations needed to bring the building back to life. Assuming the role of architect, general contractor, project manager, and skilled and unskilled laborer I spent the better part of a year fully gutting and rebuilding. I took great care to maintain as much of the original character as possible.

Developed budgets, schedules, and plans. Found and managed subcontractors, procured materials, and successfully obtained the required permits. Personally completed all demolition, trash removal, framing, flooring, and finish carpentry. Successfully negotiated all bank financing, insurance coverage, and contracts with subcontractors.

Currently fully occupied. The building now consists of (2) 1,200sf two-bedroom apartments (both rented), (1) 1,000sf street level commercial space (rented), and (1) 2,800sf combination retail space & basement workshop slated to house the new F.B. KEENE. This creative space will play host to gallery shows, pop-up retail experiences, dinner series, and more.
